Historic Auckland Waterfront Walking Tour

New Zealand Maritime Museum, Corner Quay and Hobson streets, Viaduct Harbour

Don your best walking shoes and delve into the history and archaeology of the Auckland waterfront.

The water’s edge today is far from where it was in 1840 and many buildings, structures and institutions have come and gone from this ever-changing part of the city.

The 75-minute walk will begin at the museum reception and then meander around the neighbouring streets and wharves.

This is a flat, accessible two-kilometre walk.
