ReUse Market - Auckland's City Centre (Copy) (Copy)
ReUse Flea Market in Victoria Street Carpark.
Come to shop or sell preloved goods Auckland's city centre flea market.
Flea markets are all about finding and selling secondhand items. The ReUse market is for anyone who wants to downsize, declutter. Moving city? - we are great for that too.
The ReUse Market runs on the second Sunday of each Month from 10am-2pm. Vehicle entry is at 30 Kitchener Street and pedestrian entry from High Street. The market is for second hand items only, no new goods - you never know what you might find!
There's plenty of parking - for both shoppers and sellers. The market is on the ground floor of the Victoria St Carpark - up by Albert Park. (don't get confused with the previous Victoria Park Market).
Selling at the ReUse Market:For just $30 per site, you can sell your own items at the ReUse Market and make some money from selling stuff you no longer use. The ReUse Market is a great alternative to running your own garage sale, no advertising necessary, no need for the hassles of Facebook Marketplace and TradeMe. You can sell from a table, or from the ground with a mat. Be sure to bring a way to hang and display clothes.
Also the market is undercover so need to worry about rain cancellations. There's plenty of space for shoppers to park in building upstairs.
Find more information and pre-book your spot here. If you turn up on the day, you will not be guaranteed a space.

Local talent is taking the streets with live performances every Wednesday and Friday afternoon in the city. Liven up your afternoons with local singer-songwriters and emerging New Zealand bands cropping up across Elliott Street, Wellesley Street, Queen Street and more, supported by the city centre targeted rate.
Friday 30 May 6 - 8pm, Real Groovy, 19 Victoria Street West:
6 – 6:30pm: Lucian Rice
As a multi-instrumentalist and exceptional producer, Lucian Rice’s newly formed solo project establishes him as a rising force in Aotearoa’s alternative music scene. Candid and raw, Lucian’s sound is driven by distorted guitars, charming riffs, and pristine production. He crafts an exhilarating, high-octane alt-rock experience, with a distinct sonic identity.
6:45 – 7:15pm Saltwater Criminals
Saltwater Criminals are an indie-rock band with a bright, stirring sound, made up of Scottie, Damin (Awning), Louis (Daffodils), and Mitch (Office Dog). Known for their infectious choruses, frank lyrics, and lively riffs, each member shines within the band. Their live shows have earned them a reputation as one of the most exciting bands to watch.
7:30 – 8pm: Awning
Christian Dimick (Recitals, Avant-Glass, Desperate Models) is widely accepted as one of our country’s most expressive guitar players, and perhaps our most underrated. He’ll often be hidden away in his studio, working on new music or paintings in secret. You’ll have seen this gentle giant play before in a number of groups, though Awning is the band you’ll catch him playing with these days.

Music in the city centre: Jack and Jenna, Fruju Peak
Wednesday and Fridays 12– 1:30pm and 4:30 – 6pm. Queen Street, Wellesley Street West, Elliot Street.
Local talent is taking the streets with live performances every Wednesday and Friday afternoon in the city. Jack Mensah and Jenna Jones are an acoustic duo known for their fun, lounge style covers of contemporary hits, perfect for creating a relaxed and intimate atmosphere wherever they play. With Jack on guitar, and Jenna’s sweet, yet powerful vocals, they bring a fresh twist to popular songs, occasionally blending in original pieces that showcase their musical chemistry.
Wednesday 28 May 4:30 – 6pm, Vulcan Lane: Fruju Peak
Formed in early 2022, Fruju Peak have been busily creating and experimenting within Jazz. They draw inspiration from psychedelic music in its different forms, and they aim to present a cohesive blend of their own original compositions.
Fruju Peak are simultaneously the question, the answer, and the process of finding though at times; failing. Come jam!

Music in the city centre: Harpist Harrison Chau + NZ Boutique Music Makers Salon at the Guitar Gallery + Rumpus Machine
Friday 23 May 12 – 1:30pm, Queen Street entrance of The Strand Arcade: Harpist Harrison Chau
Harrison’s journey with the harp began in high school, inspired by a brief stint with the traditional Chinese Guzheng and Harrison’s love for the Legend of Zelda series. Growing up, Harrison was also surrounded by the music of Tchaikovsky's ballets, courtesy of Harrison’s father's love for classical music.
Friday 23 May 4 – 6pm, Guitar Gallery, 95 Queen Street: NZ Boutique Music Makers Salon at the Guitar Gallery
The Guitar Gallery, Aotearoa’s premier boutique guitar shop, is renowned for featuring a curated collection of small-batch, artisan Kiwi-built gear—from high-end guitars and effects pedals to hand-wound pickups. Swing by their Auckland shop, tucked away on Exchange Lane just off Queen St, and meet the makers behind the gear.

Rumpus Machine is a band of teenage brothers and sisters based in Torbay on the North shore of Auckland. They pride themselves in performing top-class covers of the most epic classic rock songs in history from the 50’s to the 90’s – all while writing guitar-based original rock music of their own.

Africa Day Festival 2025
The bright colours and irresistible beats of Africa are coming to The Bases Wynyard Quarter (behind Silo Park) this month. Each year, the African Communities Forum Inc (ACOFI) coordinates Africa Day. This event is aimed at bringing together Africans in Tamaki Makaurau, to showcase our diversity, share and celebrate our cultures with the wider communities. As the population of the African communities continues to grow, we see the need for events such as this to continue especially for our future African Kiwis. With a packed lineup of talented artists with strong connections to Africa, dance, markets and some of Tāmaki Makaurau's tastiest food stalls. You won't want to miss this chance to immerse in all things Africa. This is a FREE and Family Friendly EVENT.

We celebrate curiosity and a sense of intellectual adventure and our programme is driven by the desire to spark ideas, to get us talking and to give us a time and place to engage with the world.

Background
In August 2012 Grey Lynn 2030 started the Car Boot Market. Held on the Last Sunday of the Month in the Grey Lynn RSC Car park and this market has become a much enjoyed community institution.
Fourteen years on the climate has changed - the market has been rain affected many times which is annoying for both our shoppers and sellers. So we were looking for a covered space to run another market. We now have a new second, central venue in Auckland's City Centre - Victoria St Car Park (note it's not the Victoria Park market). We are up by Queen St and the Albert Park/Auckland Art Gallery/Library/ University.
Our name reflects our passion and what drives our markets- ReUse Market. We hope to see you.
Thanks to the Auckland City Centre Targetted Rate and to Auckland Council/Auckland Transport for supporting the market and letting us use the carparking building for this new use.

DOJO - Launch
We are so excited to launch our new weekly event, DOJO, which is a weekly creative hangout for young people every Friday from 6–9 pm at The Button Factory. With open mic sessions, live DJs, and performances from local talent, it's a supportive, alcohol-free space to connect, create, and vibe with other young artists. Presented by the Zips (Church & AP, deadforest, Dera Meelan & Luther Lancealot).
The idea of DOJO is for young people to have somewhere safe and inviting to hang on a Friday night, with great music and live performances, meeting other young people in the arts. For some creative young people, they might want a chance to gig at an underage event, and this will be the place to get that gig!
We’d love it if you could let your young people know, or forward this to people you know who are working with young people to encourage them to come through.
