Opening Up Auckland's Waterfront

  • Queens Wharf Auckland, Auckland, 1010 New Zealand (map)

Join us on Queens Wharf on Saturday March 22 for an afternoon of kids activities, music, theatrical walks with time travellers from the future, FREE popcorn, and chance to learn more about the exciting plans to open up Auckland's central wharves for more public use.

The Recreators will be running art workshops, asking you to draw the future, alongside bead bracelet and braiding workshops.

Theatre upstarts A Slightly Isolated Dog will be leading comedic tours of the potential futures of the wharves (both real and imagined) (well, mainly imagined), and taking you along for the ride.

DJs Sandy Mill and Alice Rose will be providing the sound track for the day, keep the vibes high.

Alongside fun, frivolity music and free popcorn, it's also a chance to get alongside plans for our most iconic waterfront locations.

The central wharves of Queens, Captain Cook and Marsden wharves, the Hobson Wharf Extension and the promenade along the water’s edge will be redeveloped in years to come, and we want your thoughts on what you'd like to see happen.

Learn and help shape the future while having fun! Totally free, and fun for all ages.
