Make Art Materials from Plants

  • Studio One – Toi Tū 1 Hopetoun Street Auckland, Auckland, 1010 New Zealand (map)

Feeling inspired to work with eco-friendly art materials?

Love making things from scratch with your own hands?

Come and join us for a nourishing and practical day of learning how to make your own unique art materials from wild-foraged and homegrown plants. A whole day of artistic learning, play and connection to nature.

LEARN TO MAKE:

– artist’s drawing charcoals (including smudge-proof charcoal)

– rich black ink (with a water-resistant variation)

– handcrafted dip-pens for drawing, writing and calligraphy

– tannin-rich inks for writing and painting

– brightly-coloured inks for painting

You will also take home some of these materials, along with the skills and confidence to keep experimenting with the plants in your own local environment.

Come and treat yourself (and maybe bring a friend!) to an inspiring day of learning.
